The First Guests Get a Surprise

 What's New at Audrey's Place?
The First Guests Get a Surprise

It was a busy winter season and Downtown Sebring was in full swing. Festivals and events seemed to happen almost weekly on the streets just below the windows of Apartment 106 as cooler weather welcomed in guests from all over to our laidback town. Audrey's Place was in full swing too as this was the first few months of operation and welcoming guests.
Months before, in the heat of July, walls were being painted, furniture and appliances were being moved up those red stairs leading to the second floor, opposing but complimentary themes were coming together to each of the two apartments. Apartment 106 was coming together in its sleek, modern comfort design to play off of the warm colors and nature of the brick wall as well as the naturally calming aurora of the apartment itself. The theme for Apartment 102 was coming together as well. It wasn't totally formed yet, but both playful and the colors pink and teal were definitely in order. The find of the floral wallpaper, and the retro inspired fridge, sealed the design choice for Apartment 102. Finally, bedding was stretched out of the mattresses, pillows arranged, and duvets were laid out. Ah, everything was ready and ready for our first guest. November was here and time to see if the idea for downtown vacation rentals on the circle would be well received.

Sometimes the first step of something that you do will confirm if it was a good choice, and the first guests totally confirmed it. A couple visiting Sebring for a special weekend away booked 2 nights in Apartment 102. Though I am not usually at the property, I had the pleasure of meeting them. Now, Apartment 102 features the outdoor balcony with a sitting area and a two-person lounger, so while I was outside the building doing light parking lot cleanup, they were friendly enough to say hello from the upstairs balcony. I learned that this was a special weekend for them, and they came into town to enjoy time together and to watch a play at Highlands Lakeside Theatre. What added to this already nice plan for their weekend was the 55th Annual Sebring Fine Arts & Crafts Festival taking place! What a surprise for them to find 70 artists and vendors on the streets just below and around the corner (Apartment 102 offers some privacy from the events since the balcony overlooks the back of the building with views of the Sebring Fire Station, built 1927.) They were thrilled to be able to enjoy a great play at Highlands Lakeside Theatre, get a nice local meal from a restaurant, and now to be able to stroll and browse the art fest, PLUS enjoy their morning coffees from the semi-private balcony only seconds from all the action!
Winter has come and gone, and the events season has somewhat slowed down, but there is no stop to Sebring. There are plenty of things to enjoy over the summer such as fishing, boating, and catching live music with a cool drink of choice. What's more, is that the first guest went to show that the idea of a downtown vacation spot on the circle is fun and exciting way to visit town and a great place for people to enjoy their planned activities and surprise ones in Sebring, Florida.
